- Elizabeth was invaluable to have on board with us as we were preparing for the birth of our first child! She was sensitive to our needs, helped us ask the right questions, and asked many questions that we hadn't even considered. Her calm demeanor during labor and delivery helped me out immensely. She empowered me and equipped me to be an effective support role to my wife during labor and noticed when I needed encouragement myself. She helped us with alternative pain management, verbal and emotional support, and laugh and cried with me during the process! I wouldn't have been nearly as helpful to my wife during labor with out Elizabeth. She was irreplaceable and our family loves that she was a part of our birth experience!
Elizabeth was invaluable to us during my pregnancy, labor and birth of our little girl! Since this was my first pregnancy, I didn’t know what to expect and had a lot of questions. She was supportive and encouraging every step of the way, answering every question I had. She provided tons of resources on pregnancy, labor, and breastfeeding. She prepared me to know what to expect and gave me the confidence I needed to know that I could successfully give birth!! Elizabeth was caring, enthusiastic, professional and non-judgmental throughout the whole process. After giving birth she visited me at my home 2 hours away, she was not obligated to do that but did anyways! It was nice to be able to sit down and process my birth experience with her. I appreciate her support and making sure I was emotionally healthy after birth. My husband, Matt, is even more appreciative of the support she gave him throughout. Elizabeth was indispensable to us and we feel blessed that she was part of our team!
- This was my first time breastfeeding so I was overwhelmed and unsure about pretty much everything. I didn't feel comfortable going to a class with a bunch of strangers. Elizabeth came to my house a couple days after we came home from the hospital and showed ways to make breastfeeding less painful, how to help my daughter to latch so she could feed most efficiently & showed me how to properly set up and use my breast pump. I'm confident in the ins & out now & my daughter is thriving. Elizabeth continues to be someone I contact that I trust her advice; I am able to ask her anything without feeling embarrassed or awkward. Elizabeth has been such a helpful resource and I'm grateful to have her in my team!
Elizabeth is amazing! I turned to her close to 30 weeks pregnant when I realized I wanted calm, knowledgeable care throughout my entire labor. Elizabeth didn't disappoint. She taught me a lot before labor so I was confident when it started. She answered the phone, enthusiastically I might add, at 3 a.m. in the morning, and stayed with me the whole way through. She gave me strength and courage and wisdom, not to mention pulling out her doula bag of tricks. She then visited after birth when I was home which was CRUCIAL to me. And even to this day, she remembers my son’s birthday. She brings knowledge, calm, and levity to her practice. I could not have asked for a better partner (besides my husband) to assist with the entire labor and birth of my first child!
Elizabeth helped me gather as much information as possible about the process of my personal child birth as a first timer. It was a very exhausting experience, and Elizabeth was there with encouragement, compassion, and facts about what was actually happening. She supported me emotionally, and helped as my advocate. I recommend Elizabeth Allen as a doula. Birth on.
The most beneficial aspect of having a doula was knowing that I was doing everything I could to be prepared. Being a first-time mom, it was unsettling not knowing what to expect. Add a med-free birth center to the mix and there were times when I was downright terrified of what I might experience. I had so much more confidence going into labor and delivery knowing that I would have Elizabeth there to help calm and comfort me, and to assist my husband in being as helpful as he possibly could.
We are first time parents and we were advised by one of the instructors at the hospital to consider a doula. We chose Elizabeth largely because we could tell she would be supportive of what we wanted for our labor and delivery. She’s well educated, current, and guides you to make the decision that’s right for your family. She was there with us for the birth of our son, took priceless pictures of our new family, and helped immediately with breastfeeding. I’m 100% confident that we would not have been as successful with breastfeeding if it weren’t for her help. I was nervous about that, but she showed us what to do from the first time, and gave us advice about latching, watching his cues to be sure he was full, and how I should feel. She followed up with us in our home after the baby was born, and has continued to be an excellent resource when questions come up. My husband was also thankful that she was there with us for the delivery; she helped him to know what to do to help me, and I think he felt more comfortable than trying to guess what I may need. I would highly recommend her services; she’s genuine, encouraging, and a great coach to have by your side!
